Things that have happened in more recent times:

1. I'm sick.

Three days ago I was lying in bed with a sore throat, muscle aches, a massive headache and generally feeling quite shit. Sunday I thought I was getting better. Monday I started coughing up green gunk and clotted blood (charming, I know) - and went to see the doctor. Uni medical centre was fully booked out, but I got in by declaring that I might die if I don't get antibiotics soon. Doctor, however, declares that it's just "the common cold". In my opinion, I think I caught some weird variant of the flu that attacked the back of my throat with uncommon glee. I get a sick note which I can't use.

Today I can't eat. Because swallowing hurts.

My food diary for today reads:

Breakfast = 3 tablespoons of yogurt
Lunch = a bowl of pumpkin soup
Dinner = a bowl of instant noodles - of which I mostly just drank the soup

I think I'm going to go buy some Sanitarium Up&Go tomorrow and just live on that for a while.

2. I got a place in RCS

WOOHOOOO. I'm moving to Bunbury next year, people! I'm so excited, it's going to be an awesome experience.

Met Yang in the lift in [university hospital] today, and we were like "BUNBURY!!!!" *high five*

A year of living with friends and learning clinical medicine in a country hospital... and delivering babies... it will be fun :D Plus no rent, free internet, and they pay $80 of my mobile phone bill! Pretty hard to beat!

3. I am over surgery.

You know what? The only reasons I'd do surgery are to make and wear my own scrub cap, and because suturing people is fun. That's it. No other attraction for me.

My bets are on Deepak to be a surgeon though, so that should be quite interesting. :P

4. How come no one told me before that crochet is so much fun???
