Having a couple of really shit days. My laptop and I have this weird relationship - I need it, it hates me. We need counseling. We obviously have some issues that we need to sort out.

Basically:

Saturday night - started making funny noises (see Clare's blog for details)

Sunday morning - stopped making funny noises

Sunday night - spontaneously switched itself off 3 times. After each episode, it would make it to start-up or welcome screen again, and then turn itself off.

Monday afternoon - figured out something was wrong with the fan and it was overheating. Sexual frustration? *shrugs* Don't ask me.

Monday night - gave up getting it to run ANYTHING. It wouldn't even run Norton virus scan without dying.

Tuesday night - refuses to run Winamp/Word without shutting down. Bitches about it to dad, dad advises me to leave the laptop for something that treats me better. Like the bigger and better and less-crashy desktop! Maybe shelving will top counseling. Plus BigPond went down too, so not like I had internet.

Wednesday morning - refuses to even run the internet without crashing. I'm now typing this during a brief respite where it seems to be apologetic, sorry, even.

Seriously considering letting dad get me a desktop. This relationship is making me depressed. My laptop has the disposition of the rose in The Little Prince.

Okay, back to hitting the books. hopefully it doesn't die halfway through study.
