apple stories

comment (0) Apple stories... something that we've all been on about lately hey. Everyone has apple stories to tell. Some sadder, some happier, some have taught us lessons that we'll never ever forget. It's a good analogy of relationships and how people think and act. Clare's done a really good explanation of the original apple story, bits of which I shall quote here... "There's an apple sitting on e table... u've stared at it for so long, and you've been wanting it ... but no one's given you the permission to take it... so you sit there and hope that maybe someone will come along and let you eat it... then suddenly, another apple appears... this one is offered to you... what do you do... would you wait for the first apple, or would you take the second apple.... even though it hasn't been the one you're waiting for, and you're not sure whether or not it's going to be tasty... [and no, no such things as taste tests!] ... and say... you take the second apple... and your realised it was also a nice apple, so you liked it, you appreciated it..." We've all played a part in apple stories, we've all at least been the person waiting for the apple, and maybe we've been the apple on the table and/or the apple on offer, we could have been the apple in the pocket, the apple unavailable, already tasted; in this we can relate to each other. Now each of our stories plays itself out. What will we end up with? What will we become? Sometimes the reason we never get the apple we really want is just because of the fear of rejection- we prefer to never try. We convince ourselves that it's worth it to just keep on dreaming and desiring rather than to actually do something about it, that the illusion is better than reality. We're kidding ourselves. As I said before: Knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beats the hell out of never trying. |
