So, the new Final Fantasy game for DS came out 3 days ago, and I was elated. Downloaded the ROM, all set in my pro-piracy flashcart (yay for the r4ds).

And then tragedy.

The Moogle Screen of Death (MoD)!!

As it turns out Squaresoft got smart and encoded an anti-piracy thing into Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles just to screw with flashcart users. The game starts fine, and then about 20 minutes later when I enter a new room this screen flashes onto my DS. And then it reloads and starts all over from the intro screen without saving my data. And this happens at 20 minute intervals throughout the game. I've been sitting on forums hoping that someone's managed to crack it, but no avail. :(

Apparently it's possible to play the entire game racing from save point to save point in 20 minute intervals, but I'm not going to do that. No fun in RPGs that way.

But ARGH Moogle of Death. I really want to play this game and this is so annoying!!
